The Grandest Golf Competition Of All Time
For all golf enthusiasts, the 2018 Masters is one grand event to watch out. The element of excitement is what makes the competition fun to watch.
First among all parts of the competition is a kick start for the golfers. The first part focuses on briefing the golfers and lets them decide whether they are ready for competing. The second part is where the golfers are let to prepare for their gears and undergo practices as they are also given the rules of the competition. The last part is nerve wracking as it is where the golfers prepare their mindset for the game itself.
Golf is a game where the golfers face a tough challenge of finding the right gear that could let them score. Unlike most games, golf does not need a standardized court. Every golf course is different from each other when it comes to the design. So long as the course contains 9 to 18 holes, it is all set for golfing. Yet there are rules and regulations set for each game.
Every golfer’s number of stroke is counted in the game. The strokes vary from each golfer. In golf, each player has to defeat his opponent in a match play scoring system.
Originated in 12th century Scotland, this game was just a pastime to shepherds who compete with each other in kicking stones into rabbit holes. This game mechanic is still applicable in golfing up to this day but the golfers use a club instead of simply giving the ball a kick with their foot.
Now, golfing has become a famous competition of different types. Below are some of the types of golf competitions:
Medal play or stroke play
This type of competition is widely used in professional tournaments. In the stroke or medal play, each golfer must complete all 18 holes in the course and the player the lowest total net scores when it comes to number of strokes wins.
Match plays is where two teams of golfers compete in scoring the most holes from each other. This type is usually played in golf clubs and players in a match play follows a strict set of rules and regulations.
In this type of golfing, each player scores the balls in a hole and it will be decided which among the shots is the best one. After such, each of the player repeats the act until the competition is over. Scramble is very popular among golf enthusiasts because it is the less complicated among all the other types
In this competition, each hole contains a prize called a ‘skin’ and each of the players need to score each skin first. The bag of money is called the ‘skin’ because the bag is literally made of skin.
The flag competition is also called the Last Man Standing or the Tombstone because in this type of competition, the golfers start the round with an allotment of strokes and they later on play along the golf course until the strokes they alloted run out.
These are just some of the many types of golf competitions set for the 2018 Masters Review so don’t miss out your chance to see famous golfers including Iain Sharpe take over the golf course.
